Ryan Hardee / 25 Years

Ryan Hardee, Underground Maintenance Crew Leader in the Electric Department, recently celebrated 25 years of service with Greenville Utilities. His crew "does it all," he said. "We do underground and overhead maintenance and troubleshooting throughout GUC's system." Ryan says the camaraderie with his co-workers is what he likes best about working at GUC. "They are a top notch bunch of guys," he said. "I also like knowing I'm doing my part to make sure Greenville has the best electric system possible."  Ryan and his wife, Jennifer, have two children. Their daughter, Addison, is eight, and their son, Reed, just turned five. In his free time, Ryan likes to spend time with his family, as well as hunt and fish.

Tracy Colville  / 20 years

Tracy Colville, Water Resources Equipment Operator III, has also celebrated 20 years of service with GUC. Tracy is on the same crew as Michael, which is one of the five crews whose responsibilities range from medium to heavy construction jobs, to troubleshooting service work. His crew primarily handles new water/sewer taps and installations. "I like that my job is mostly outdoors, and I enjoy the people I work with," he said. During off hours, Tracy says he enjoys spending time with his friends, girlfriend, family, and kids (21-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son), as well as hunting and fishing.

Michael Silverthorne  / 20 Years

Water Resources Equipment Operator IV Michael Silverthorne recently celebrated 20 years of service with GUC. Michael is on one of the five crews whose responsibilities range from medium to heavy construction jobs, to troubleshooting service work. His crew in particular primarily handles new water/sewer taps and installations. When asked what he likes most about his job, he said it's the people he works with every day. "I work with good people." Michael and his wife, Jenette, of 25 years have a 13-year-old son. In his spare time, Michael enjoys time with his family, hunting, fishing, and travelling.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Congratulations to Water Resources Engineer II SCOTT FARMER for receiving his Master's in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University. In addition, Scott was recently appointed to the ECU Engineer Advisory Board, which works with the School of Engineering to tailor course work and degree types to fit the needs of most of the organizations hiring ECU engineering graduates.

CHRIS PADGETT, Chief Administration Officer, was elected to serve on the Pitt-Greenville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. His term will run through 2018.
