Leonard Roberson Retires

Leonard Roberson Retires

32 Years
March 1, 2016

Leonard Roberson recently retired after more than 32 years of service. He began his career at GUC in 1983 as a Utility Laborer at the Water Treatment Plant. Six promotions later, he was a Pipe Crew Leader in the Water Resources Department. Leonard possessed many different skills within the Department and was highly respected by everyone.

In his retirement, Leonard says he's not quite sure what he'll do with himself, but plans to "keep living." He plans to spend more time with his two children and two grandchildren. He'll also continue with his hobbies of riding motorcycles and racing remote controlled cars, boats, and helicopters.
"I am very thankful to God to have had the opportunity and desire to work at the same place for 32 1/2 years," said Leonard. "I would like to thank my co-workers for the fantastic working relationship we've had over the years. Many of you have been less of a co-worker and more like family to me. I shall miss working at Greenville Utilities and hope to see many of you around town. So I will say see you later instead of goodbye!"

Best wishes, Leonard. We will see you later!
