Butch Stroud / 20 Years

Butch Stroud, Water Resources Pipe Crew Leader, is celebrating his 20th year with GUC. He and his six-man crew predominantly handle major water/sewer construction projects, install new water/sewer mains, and perform maintenance and repair on existing mains. Their projects mostly deal with large diameter pipes. Butch says he enjoys working outdoors and running heavy equipment. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing and hitting the road to the beach. Butch has two adult children, Chandler and Niki, and two grandchildren.

Dan Oglesby / 20 Years

Energy Services Officer Dan Oglesby recently celebrated 20 years of service with Greenville Utilities. At no cost to our residential and commercial customers, Dan provides energy surveys that provide helpful, reliable information to customers. Among other responsibilities, Dan predominantly makes on-site evaluations, checking for things like insulation, caulking, weather-stripping, heating/cooling efficiency, air leaks, and other energy-related items. Once the survey is complete, customers get a written report to help them make informed decisions about improvements. "There have been a lot of customers I've enjoyed helping along the way," said Dan. "I love empowering customers with information to help them gain more control over their utility usage." Dan and his wife of 37 years, Ellena, have one adult son, John. During his spare time, Dan enjoys worship, fellowship, and Bible study at his church; doing home repairs and maintenance for his own home as well as others; and occasionally hiking/fishing.
