Santa's Visit 2016

Santa's Visit 2016

December 9, 2016

For 10 years now, GUC employees and their families have enjoyed our annual visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. This year, Santa came by on December 4th so that children could share their wish lists with him and get their picture taken; and, of course, enjoy milk and cookies!

Santa's visit is part of Operation Santa Claus, a partnership between the Salvation Army and the Pitt County Department of Social Services that provides donation toys for children who might not otherwise find any gifts under the tree on Christmas morning.  Families brought toys to donate when they came to visit with Santa. We had collection boxes set up throughout our facilities as well.

"We look forward to our GUC visit every year," said Mrs. Claus. "It is so fun to watch the children grow up and to meet new kids.  We love coming here!"

Thanks go to Lou Norris, Secretary to the General Manager, and Kristen Jarman, Staff Support Specialist II, who planned the event and were on hand to provide milk, cookies, and reindeer food to the kids who attended. Public Information employees Emily Garner and Linda Clark took photos.
