Service Awards

Courtney Basile / 20 Years

Courtney Basile, Business Analyst II, celebrated 20 years of service with Greenville Utilities. Courtney began her career with GUC as Customer Service and Transaction Analyst for Customer Relations before transitioning to Senior Administrative Assistant and then her current title in August 2014. Her daily responsibilities include offering support and assistance to GUC employees with our Customer Care and Billing (CCB) system and our online Oracle Utility Customer Self Service (OUCSS) system. She also handles configuration changes with CCB, monitors the nightly batch process for CCB, and works with patching efforts for both CCB and OUCSS. "Every day at GUC I learn something new," she said. Courtney and her husband, AJ, have been married for 19 years and have two children, daughter Mara (16), and son Gunner, (11), as well as two four-legged "children," Finn and Jake, who are rescue Pitt Bulls. She loves visiting Disney World with her family as well as cheering on her son in soccer and watching her daughter dance.

 

 

 

Hugh Mills / 20 Years

Gas Systems Operator Hugh Mills recently celebrated 20 years with Greenville Utilities. Hugh started with GUC as a Meter Technician in Electric before transferring to the Gas Department. He started off as a Gas Service Worker before obtaining his current title. As an Operator, Hugh is part of the group that maintains and operates the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Facility. He also helps with maintaining and addressing various areas throughout the gas system, builds commercial meter sets, and coordinates the annual residential and commercial leak surveys to identify vulnerable equipment and gas lines. Hugh and his wife of 21 years, Theresa, have a 14-year-old son, Conner. Hugh loves spending his weekends in Bath catching fish, boating, and hanging with friends and family on the river.

William Proctor called to compliment Melvin Foreman for providing excellent customer service during a routine meter change out at Mr. Proctor's home. "Melvin was very professional and represented Greenville Utilities very well by answering all of my questions and making sure everything was safe before he left," he said.

Leigh Ann Odom called to compliment Gas Staff Support Specialist Shirley Peele for her assistance with a number of routine gas meter changes performed at the apartment complex where Ms. Odom works. "Each time I spoke to Shirley she was very nice and pleasant, and put me at ease."
