Bobby Green Retires

Bobby Green Retires

September 25, 2018

Bobby Green, Gas Systems Crew Leader I, recently retired after 30 years of service with GUC. Bobby worked with his crew to install gas services for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. “I enjoyed being outside and getting to meet different people on the job,” said Bobby. “I hope that over the years I have left something that somebody has learned and will continue to use. It’s been fun working with you all. We’re like a family here, and I hope that you all keep working together and keep respecting each other.”

Bobby and his wife, Wanda, got married the same year he started his career at GUC. They have two grown children, Tameka and Brandon. They also have six grandchildren. In retirement, Bobby plans to continue running his appliance repair business, where he focuses on gas-operated appliances.

Something we learned during Bobby’s retirement lunch is that he donated his unused sick time to GUC’s new Shared Leave Bank, where employees can donate a percentage of their unused sick or vacation time to other employees. Thank you, Bobby, for this kind gesture, and congratulations on your retirement!
