The Annual Contractor Awareness/Damage Prevention Breakfast and Seminar was held on April 9th at the Electric/Water Resources Maintenance Building. This annual event is sponsored by the Pitt County Utilities Coordinating Committee (PCUCC), along with NC811, Piedmont Natural Gas, Greenville Utilities, the City of Greenville, US Infrastructure Company, Consolidated Pipe & Supply Company, and Ferguson Plumbing. Attendees included contractors, engineers, builders, and representatives from the sponsoring companies.

There were two speakers this year. Howard Corey with NC811 shared updates happening at NC811, including their mobile app. Ryan Spurrell from Piedmont Natural Gas talked about their location procedures.

The PCUCC is comprised of representatives from NC811, CenturyLink, Suddenlink, GUC, and the City of Greenville. They have been meeting monthly since the 1980s to share information and promote damage prevention. The following Greenville Utilities employees serve on the PCUCC Committee: Jarrett McGalliard (Chair), Mickey Tripp (Co-Chair), Cherlyn Barrett, Brian Murphy, and Will Prescott.
