Service Awards

John Daughton / 25 Years

John Daughton, Gas Systems Supervisor, celebrated 25 years of service with GUC this month. John leads the Gas Maintenance section that is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Facility, cathodic protection system and SCADA field instrumentation, as well as ensuring that regulatory requirements for each are fulfilled. John’s team also maintains GUC’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Fueling Station and all six gas regulator stations. Since the Gas Department must meet the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations for pipeline safety, this section also ensures that we are complying with these standards. “I’ve enjoyed working with my guys over the years,” he said.

During his spare time, John likes doing yard work and maintenance on his home. He also enjoys traveling the world, with his most recent adventures taking him to Thailand and Russia.

Robbie Mooring / 20 Years

Line Clearing Coordinator Robbie Mooring recently celebrated 20 years of service with GUC. He joined GUC as a Meter Reader, then worked as a Tree Trimmer and Tree Trimmer Crew Leader. In his current position, Robbie oversees the line clearing program that covers almost 3,000 miles of distribution lines and high voltage transmission lines on our electric system. Tree trimming crews are also responsible for GUC’s vegetation management plan for our rights-of-ways as well as clearing trees and underbrush from land that is being developed or needs new utility facilities. “I have enjoyed being in the field and seeing changes and development over the years,” said Robbie. “I’ve also enjoyed the people I work with as well as interacting with customers.” He and his wife, Debbie, have two daughters, Mackenzie (17) and Whitney (11). He says their three dogs, Labs Cole and Bayleigh and Yorkipoo Sugar, keep them entertained. In his free time, Robbie enjoys hunting and fishing as well as time with his family on the boat at the river.
