It takes every employee to make the Lighthouse process successful. Observers and Steering Team members are the most visible of course, but without the willingness of employees to be observed, Lighthouse would not exist at all.

As of November 26th, we have completed 3,085 observations so far in 2019. That means there were almost 3,100 instances when an employee said “Yes, you can observe me while I work.” It represents almost 3,100 one-on-one conversations about which safe behaviors were observed, followed by a discussion of what might be putting the employee at-risk for an injury.  These were opportunities to talk about barriers to working safely and what could be done to remove those barriers.
