Socks & Gloves Drive
A big thank you goes out to GUC employees for donating 248 pairs of socks and 94 pairs of gloves to Pitt County children. What started as a challenge from Pitt County Schools Foundation to collect 150 pairs of socks and 150 pairs of gloves in 25 days turned into a total donation of 3,491 pairs of socks, 1,450 pairs of gloves, 50 hats, and 10 scarves. These donations came from City of Greenville, GUC, Greenville ENC Alliance, Greenville Junior League, ECU’s Epsilon Sigma Alpha service sorority, Baywood Racquet Club, Greenville Potters, and residents.
Pitt County Schools will distribute the items in a variety of ways as needed by students.
Virtual Career Fairs
Kyle Brown (Electric) represented Greenville Utilities at ECU’s Virtual Engineering & Technology Career Fair on February 17th, while Angie Fuller and Kay Spriggs with HR participated in the University’s Spring Job and Internship Fair on the 24th. While both events were held through an online event service called Handshake, students were still allowed to sign up for one-on-one and group meetings with employers.
Angie and Kay also represented GUC at a virtual UNC Pembroke Local Government Career Fair on February 18th.
