Accomplishments

Congratulations to Crystal Respess Stewart, Wastewater Treatment Plant Laboratory Technician II, on passing the NC One Water Laboratory Analyst Class II Exam. While all wastewater laboratories are required to be certified by the State of North Carolina, this voluntary analyst program is a way for the individual laboratory analysist to prove their competence and increase their professional skills. NC One Water is the former North Carolina American Water Works Association – Water Environment Association (NC AWWA-WEA).

Our condolences to Electric Overhead Crew Leader II Daniel McLawhorn on the recent passing of his mother, Velma McLawhorn. Mrs. McLawhorn was also the grandmother of Electric Overhead Lineworkers First Class Justin McLawhorn and Matt McLawhorn. 

Our deepest condolences to Water Resources SCADA Network Coordinator Keith Godbey on the recent loss of his mother, Frances Lula Godbey. 

Our sympathies are also extended to Meter Technician II Leon Kornegay on the passing of his father, Louis Thomas “Hawk” Williams Sr.

Kate Ker sent a Facebook message complimenting Control Room Operator II George Darden and Gas Service Worker Senior John Sheppard on their response to a possible gas leak at her house. “George was very friendly and helpful,” she wrote, “and John was super quick and very professional, friendly, and made everything good for us. Thank you so much for the great service!”  

Craig Stephen wrote the following tweet after power was restored to his neighborhood following the string of storms that came through our service area in the early hours of March 24th: “Quality service from GUC – power back on within the hour!”
