Getting In The Holiday Spirit

Getting In The Holiday Spirit

December 12, 2022

Hats off to our operating departments for continuing the tradition of decorating GUC vehicles for the Greenville Jaycees’ Christmas Parade – this year on December 3rd. For the seventh time, it was held at night, so the parade was filled with festive, twinkling lights. Special thanks to Electric and Water Resources employees who decorated and operated the GUC vehicles for the parade. Kevin Jones, Substation Lineworker, drove the bucket truck while his wife and two of their children rode along. Those who helped prep and decorate the truck included Overhead (OH) Crew Leaders Mike Ashley and Shawn Adams along with OH Lineworkers Matt Craft, CJ Forrest, Oscar Meeks, Jeffrey Rouse, Hunter Forrest, David Bunch, Richard Gould, Cole Hartley, and Zack Kruger. Oscar also operated a bucket truck for local media to get an overhead view of the parade.

Danny Lane, Water Resources Systems Maintenance Crew Leader, drove the sewer truck, while WR Pipe Layer Matthew Worthington helped with prepping and decorating the truck.

For the first time in two years, employees and their family members braved the rainy weather to share their holiday joy on our float this year: Enrique Basabe (Electric), Chad Flannagan (WTP), Shannon Oakley (Customer Relations), Amanda Wall (Finance), Keith Godbey (Water Resources), and Jessica Hardy (Finance).

Thank you to these employees and their families for making us look good!

Celebrating Together
Special holiday luncheons were held on December 6th, 7th, and 8th at Rock Springs Center.  Employees enjoyed a delicious lunch, received a special gift, and, most of all, had some quality fellowship and fun with co-workers.

Many thanks to the Human Resources Department for organizing this fun and festive event!
