Jeff Mills Retires
Jeff Mills, Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Maintenance Mechanic III, has retired after 20 years of service with Greenville Utilities. Jeff was part of the team responsible for keeping all the mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and instrumentation systems operable at the WWTP, as well as the 44 remote pump stations that send the flow to the treatment plant. Jeff, who holds an Associate Degree in Electrical Systems Technology, is multi-skilled with knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, pumps, motors, hydraulics, and pump mechanics. He’s also certified with NC One Water as a Maintenance Technician III and holds a Collection IV Certification from the Water Pollution Control System Operators Certification Commission.
“I’ve enjoyed the job here,” said Jeff, “especially when it came to learning new equipment and being on the maintenance side of it all. We have a good group of people in wastewater who I enjoy working with and will probably miss the most.”
Born and raised in Black Jack, Jeff lives there with his wife, Katrina. He worked for 20 years at Proctor and Gamble before joining GUC and looks forward to retirement and spending more time with Katrina and their family, including his adult step kids, Tyler and LeAnne. He also plans to do more hunting, fishing, playing guitar, and improving his bowling skills (he plays in a bowling league).
Jeff, we wish you the best of luck in retirement!
