Service Awards

Leon Kornegay / 20 Years
Leon Kornegay, Meter Field Technician II, has celebrated 20 years of service with GUC. Leon works in the Repair Section that is responsible for all maintenance, repair, and in-house testing of water and gas meters. They also perform maintenance on our larger commercial meters and compound water meters (typically installed at facilities like apartment complexes). While Techs can do diagnostic checks and some repairs in the field, they perform most repairs and testing in the Meter Shop. Meters are changed out periodically in accordance with GUC rules and regulations. The two-inch meters are on a four-year change-out program, and all larger meters are changed-out or tested annually. “I really enjoy my coworkers,” said Leon. “They are like an extended family. You can call on them for anything, even if it’s not work related.”
