Linwood Smith / 25 Years 
Water Resources Systems Operations/Maintenance Crew Leader II Linwood Smith recently celebrated 25 years with Greenville Utilities. His crew of four responds to water and sewer trouble calls, which also involve a variety of general services such as water and meter installations. In his role, Linwood gets to do something he enjoys: interact with customers. “I enjoy talking to customers and explaining to them the cause of certain issues,” he said. When asked about one of his favorite things about GUC, he said, “I like that I have had the opportunity to advance within the company.” 

Russ Carson / 20 Years  
Russ Carson, Control Room Operations Supervisor, recently celebrated 20 years at GUC. In his role, Russ oversees two sections of the Electric Department: the Load Management Program and Station One. For Load Management, Russ is responsible for predicting peak hours and reducing peak demands, which in turn helps GUC minimize the cost of purchased wholesale power. At Station One, Russ leads our team of Control Room Operators who respond to customer needs 24/7, manage security surveillance, monitor and operate the Electric SCADA system, monitor the Gas SCADA system, and dispatch crews to respond to emergencies. “My favorite part of the job is working with our people,” he said. "It is a lot easier to work together when you have good relationships, and we have a family atmosphere here.”

Customer Contact Representative II Nicholas Corsaro recently received a commendation from a customer who wrote, “You are lucky as a company to have such a professional and knowledgeable employee.” 

Customer Susan Chatham called to compliment Gas Service Specialists Adam Wilson and Carlos Crespo for providing excellent customer service while reconnecting her natural gas service. Ms. Chatham stated that “the gentlemen were pleasant, personable, professional, and deserved to be recognized for their great customer service.”   

Mr. Corbett recently called to compliment Gas Systems Crew Leader Chris Rouse along with Gas Systems Technicians Timothy Beddard, Joshua Harrell, Allen Brooks, and Carson Knight for providing “excellent customer service” while installing a natural gas main in his neighborhood.  Mr. Corbett stated that he was “very impressed with the professionalism, customer service, and knowledge of our construction crew.”
