Appointments are available daily for wellness visits in the GUC Clinic. A wellness visit is a type of preventative care that focuses on maintaining wellness and stopping health problems before they occur or catching issues in early stages. All wellness visits to the GUC Clinic are provided at no cost to you or your dependents, aged 13 and up, who are covered on your Cigna health plan.
Which wellness services are available?
Physical exams by a doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant.
Biometric screenings that include vitals, weight, blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol screening performed by nursing staff.
Health coaching, which involves discussions with Clinic staff to help guide you in making choices to promote better health.
Sports physicals for your dependents aged 13 and over who are covered on your Cigna health plan.
Lab work ordered by your personal doctor, a GUC provider, or a specialist (including out-of-town specialists from clinics like Duke and Chapel Hill). The GUC Clinic can handle an abundance of lab orders including (but not limited to) iron, lipid panel, complete blood count, liver function panel, hemoglobin A1C, Lyme disease, various cultures, and much more!
Routine Immunizations for Td (Tetanus, Diphtheria), Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis), Shingles for those aged 50 and older, Hepatitis B, and Flu.
