For the ninth time in our 119-year history, employees celebrated an important milestone — one million consecutive man hours without a lost workday due to injury. This was the first time we’ve had this achievement since August of 2022, when were able to celebrate with our first PitMaster Challenge and Safety Fair.  

“Over the past few years, we have listened to your concerns and feedback and made changes to how our safety program is run,” said General Manager/CEO Tony Cannon. “It is the effort of you all doing your very best to look out for each other that really makes a difference in our successes.” 

As of June 8, 2024, our efforts in managing exposures to make zero injuries a reality each day were almost successful for 404 days straight – one million hours worked without lost workday from injury. There have been some injuries during that time, but none were serious enough to force someone to lose a whole day of work.  

It took each and every employee to reach this milestone, and to celebrate our team effort, we were treated to a One Million Hour Achievement Lunch with seven food trucks for lunch and dessert options. In addition, each employee received 7,000 safety points.
