The annual Health and Wellness Fair earlier this month welcomed approximately 200 employees.
The Fair offered information about what services the community and GUC had to offer to support employees’ physical, nutritional, mental, environmental, financial, medical, and body recovery wellness.
The Fair featured more than 20 vendors. Highlights included Kinetic Physical Therapy and Wellness offering massages to attendees; Downtown Barre and Stretch Zone offering free first-time sessions at their facilities; Fleet Feet bringing in the 3D scanner and helping attendees discover the type of shoe they need for optimal running/walking needs; and the GUC Clinic providing biometric screenings.
Other vendors had experts providing information and advice about a wide array of wellness issues. Our wellness committee and HR staff were even serving up Fresh Vibes smoothies, plus there was a yogurt bar that employees enjoyed.
“The Wellness Fair went very well,” said Stella Harris, HR Intern. “Everyone left the Fair happy. Employees left with new information about all varieties and aspects of wellness, and the vendors left with a new connection to our GUC employees.”
Vendors in attendance included Downtown Barre, Fleet Feet, Green Health First, Nutrition Plus, FROGGS, Pitt County Health Department, City of Greenville Parks and Recreation, S&S Parenting Services, Wiko Innovative Solutions, Stretch Zone, Kinetic Physical Therapy and Wellness, Ross Orthodontics, Lung Cancer Initiative, Honorbridge, Gentivia Hospice, GUC Clinic, Southern Bank, GUCO Credit Union, Cigna, and Sam’s Club.
