Congratulations to the following Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) employees on obtaining certifications from the NC Wastewater Operator Certification Board: Justin Williams, Maintenance Mechanic III, and Grey Elliott, Maintenance Mechanic II, received their Collections IV certifications; Kolby Chesson, Maintenance Mechanic I, and Jason Manning, Facility Manager, received their Collections III certifications; Tripp Leggett, Maintenance Mechanic III, received his Collections II certification; Adam Henn, Operator III, received his Collections I certification; Jason Harmon, Operator II, received his Biological IV certification; Megan Tillery, Chemist I, received her Biological III certification; Adam Garris, Maintenance Mechanic III, received his Biological II certification; and Dylan Moore, Maintenance Mechanic III, and Clayton Smith, Maintenance Mechanic II, received their Biological I Certifications. To obtain these certifications, employees must participate in 32-40 contact hours in Board-approved certification school. Exams are then administered by the state and must be passed to complete the process. The Collections exam relates to the collections system, piping, pump stations, and regulations. The Biological exam relates to plant operations, compliance, controls, and regulations.
Condolences
Our deepest condolences to WWTP Chemist II Kevin Hardee and his wife on the passing of his mother-in-law, Nancy Massey Willis.
Our condolences are also extended to Ryan Gregory, WTP Operations Supervisor, on the passing of his grandfather, Dallas Lee "Sambo" Gregory.
Our sympathies also go to WWTP Facility Manager Jason Manning, on the passing of his son-in-law Joshua Miles Lull.

Mr. Shugart left a 5-star Google review complimenting Carter Rochelle, Gas Service Specialist I, who checked the gas line connection and indoor equipment at Mr. Shugart’s property. He mentioned that Carter ensured everything was connected properly after Mr. Shugart had work done by a private company. He stated that Carter was “professional, very knowledgeable, and thorough.”
Mr. West left a 5-star Google review, thanking Jackie Mills, Customer Contact Representative I, for her help getting him the history on his water, sewer, and electric bills. He mentioned that she was “extremely polite” and provided him with what he needed “immediately.” He said he “couldn’t have asked for better customer service.”
Ms. Jones left a 5-star Google review, thanking Jean Ricks, Customer Contact Representative II, and Mark Nash, Customer Relations Team Lead, for being so pleasant and eager to assist her. She wrote that she appreciated their hard work and that their “dedication and commitment to serving the community with grace and respect does not go unnoticed.” She also said how much she appreciated them both, and that she wanted to share how her interactions with them “turned a cloudy day, back into a sunny one!”
Mr. Sparrow called to express his appreciation for the excellent service provided by Electric Troubleshooter Crew Leader Calvin Whitehead and Lineworker Third Class Hunter Sparks, while investigating his flickering lights. He mentioned that they “arrived quickly and made the necessary repairs quickly as well.” He also said that he “really appreciated their timeliness and professionalism.”
