We have reached one million hours worked without a lost workday. As of June 3, 2026, our efforts to reduce exposures and eliminate barriers have resulted in zero injuries for 411 straight days.
This achievement is worth celebrating, and I want to thank everyone who has committed to making zero injuries a reality.
We’ll have information on how we will celebrate this achievement in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please stay focused on safety and keeping each other safe.
We also have a new 2026 Strategic Plan that was adopted by the Board of Commissioners in June.
This is an update to the Strategic Plan, also known as Blueprint, that was created in 2018. We found that times were changing and we needed to revisit the Blueprint plan to make sure that it was still relevant to our customer and community needs. We also decided to drop the name Blueprint and call it what it is, the Strategic Plan.
After six months of collecting survey responses from the community and our employees as well as conducting focus groups with business leaders, employees, elected officials, and groups working with economically vulnerable people, we found that little needed to be changed for a new plan.
It was discovered that the plan we have been following for two decades has done a good job of guiding GUC. We are moving forward with a few changes to the plan while remaining focused on cost and affordability, reliability, and safety.
Thank you to all of our employees and leadership who participated in the development of the 2026 Strategic Plan that will guide GUC for years to come.
