PCC - PCS Early College
Tracy Williams, Stella Harris, Juanita Sims, Aracely Smith, Lena Previll and Leah Herring with HR assisted with mock interviews for high school students at Pitt Community College on April 13th through April 16th. This event is designed to help students develop their interview skills with future job interviews.
Pigskin Touch Arrggh Truck
Thank you to Bradley Hardee and Jordan Clymer (Electric), and Kyle Bird and Isaac Hodges (Sewer) for attending the Pigskin Pig-Out at ECU on April 18th. They help with the Touch Arrggh Truck part of the event where they brought out a bucket truck and sewer TV truck to showcase to attendees.
ECU Baseball
Thank you to Logan Smith (Gas) for talking with customers and handing out GUC-branded items at the April 17th ECU baseball game against Wichita State.
Earth Day Community Clean Up
Thank you to all the employees who attended the Earth Day community clean up at Wildwood Park on April 22nd. By helping clean up around the park, you have helped to make the community sparkle a little brighter!
Roar, Soar, Explore Community Bash
Parker Lee, Erin Walton, Melinda Sampson and Emily Garner (Pub Info), Joey Breeden and Mike O’Brien (Gas), and Kevin Jones (Electric), attended Roar, Soar, Explore STEM Event at Minges Colosseum on April 23rd. This event was hosted by Pitt County Schools and brings together students, families, and community partners for an evening of fun, exploration, and learning about a variety of STEM topics.
PirateFest
Emily Garner, Karin Fullington and Parker Lee (Pub Info), Enrique Basabe (Electric), Renee Gibson (Customer Relations), David McDaniel and Caitlyn McLawhorn (Finance), and Isaiah Bradshaw (IT) helped out at PirateFest on April 25th. PirateFest is an annual event that includes tons of fun activities for pirates of all ages located along 1st Street. GUC handed out water, had a lineman photo prop for people to take pictures with, and handed out prizes from our prize wheel to attendees.
Golf Tournament
Steve Hawley (Pub Info) and Scott Mullis, Jonathan Sergeant, and Lee Eakes (Customer Relations) represented GUC at the Homebuilder’s Association Golf Tournament on April 30th by handing out GUC-branded giveaways and information.
