Customer Relations Energy Services Division delivered 100 fans to the Pitt County Council on Aging to provide relief from the heat for local residents.
With temperatures reaching the triple digits in the heat of summer, some families in Pitt County are unable to cool their homes that lack working and efficient HVAC systems.
For more than 25 years, GUC has donated fans to be distributed to the handicapped, elderly, and qualifying families with small children.
“The fan giveaway is a great way for GUC to make a meaningful difference in our community,” said Director of Customer Relations Colleen Sicley.
“For many seniors, a fan can provide relief during the hottest months of the year. We're thankful for the opportunity to partner with the Council on Aging to support local senior citizens and help make sure they have a way to stay comfortable this summer.”
Executive Director of the Pitt County Council on Aging Rich Zeck said, “The ongoing partnership with Greenville Utilities is such a valued partnership.”
