Linda Hinton / 20 Years

Linda Hinton celebrates 20 years of service with Greenville Utilities this month. She is a Systems Dispatcher II at Station 1 and handles everything from outages to customer service and billing questions 24/7. Linda and the other Dispatchers have to be knowledgeable about so many aspects of GUC in order to assist our customers in hundreds of different scenarios. After normal operating hours, they take care of all calls for the Electric, Water Resources, and Gas Departments. They also work closely with the Meter Section and Substation/Controls. "I really love what I do," said Linda. "I enjoy being behind the scenes keeping our customers lights, water, and gas on. I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of people through GUC that I would not have met otherwise and have made some good friends. I've also had the opportunity to give back to the community." Linda has four grown sons who still live in Pitt County. During her spare time, Linda serves as the financial secretary at her church and enjoys traveling. Her favorite place to visit is Florida.
