We all have one activity in common that is our biggest risk of having a serious injury or fatality — driving. Many of us drive as part of our daily work; most (if not all) of us drive as part of our life outside work.  Exposures to hazards related to driving are numerous. One behavior that was noticed frequently as at-risk during observations was backing. Lighthouse recommended some strategies to help turn those at-risk's into safe behaviors.

GUC has promoted the use of a backer to help avoid hitting people or property whenever possible. It's not always practical to use a backer though, so Lighthouse recommended adding backup cameras on all our vehicles. New vehicles are ordered with backup cameras installed. Cameras are being installed on all other vehicles. This is just one more tool to help us stay safe when we're behind the wheel of a GUC vehicle.
