Keith Fisher / 25 Years
Keith Fisher, Water/Sewer Systems Supervisor, recently celebrated 25 years of service with Greenville Utilities. Before his current position, he was a Pipe Crew Leader for heavy construction. He is now responsible for five crews whose jobs range from construction to troubleshooting service work. The construction crews are primarily responsible for installing water/sewer services off our existing mains and repairing any water/sewer leaks, while the two service crews focus on repairing small water service leaks and clearing sewer blockages that occur on service lines. Keith enjoys the variety of jobs that they do, plus working with customers. “I like being able to help our customers with any problems that arise,” said Keith. He and his wife, Christy, have two daughters, 14-year-old Katie and ten-year-old Claire, along with six-year-old son, Chris.
Antonio Haywood / 20 Years
Antonio (Tony) Haywood has recently celebrated 20 years with GUC. Tony works as a Pipe Layer III in the Water Resources Department. He works with a crew that handles light to medium water/sewer construction, service installation, and main/service repair. “I love everything about my job,” he said. “I enjoy the people I work with and I get to learn something new each and every day.” In his free time, Tony stays busy with a variety of activities. He’s known as “Red Dog” in the PC Street Riders motorcycle group he participates in. He also runs “Red Dog’s Delivery Service” where he works with My Sister’s Attic, the Center for Family Violence Prevention’s resale and consignment shop, to deliver furniture purchased at the shop. Tony and his wife, Sharon, have five grown children and two granddaughters, Mia and Nyla.

Congratulations to Gas Service Worker Enrique Basabe Benitez and his wife, Alicia, on the birth of their daughter, Abla Brooke.

Congratulations to Brooke Norton, WTP Laboratory Technician, on passing her Grade I Physical/Chemical certification exam from the NC Water Pollution Control Systems Operators Certification Commission.
Congratulations to Electric Engineer Jacob Barnes on obtaining his Engineer Intern Certification from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.
Congratulations also to Energy Services Officers Seth Shoneman and Jonathan Sergeant for being part of the first class of credentialed Crawl Space Encapsulation Specialists. This certification training from the North Carolina Building Performance Association includes moisture management, proper ventilation, thermal bridging, code requirements, and demonstrations on the various types of crawl spaces found in NC.

Rich Hutson with State Employees Credit Union called to compliment Gas Service Worker Justin Oakes and Gas Systems Technician Tony Richards for providing “prompt and excellent customer service.” He said he was impressed with how quickly they assisted him in getting the gas turned on.
Jerry Lotterhos, a photographer and avid birdwatcher who frequents the Wastewater Treatment Plant, sent a thank you note to the plant staff along with a framed picture he took of the eagle pair that resides on the plant property. “I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the staff for being so kind,” he wrote.
Burk Barbee called to compliment Customer Contact Representative Tonya Roebuck on her assistance with his account. “She did a great job following up with me,” he said.
Clyde Brooks sent a note commending Gas Service Worker John Shepherd for assisting Mr. Brooks with a gas outage. “John was great – professional, fast, friendly,” he wrote. “What a great example of outstanding performance.”
