UNC Chapel Hill Career Fair
Angie Fuller, Juanita Sims, and Kay Spriggs with Human Resources shared information about GUC with approximately 100 students at the UNC Chapel Hill STEM Career Exploration Fair on September 20th.
Freeboot Friday
After two years, GUC bucket trucks returned to Freeboot Friday at Uptown Greenville on September 23rd. We provided a booth full of GUC Swag and two bucket trucks for rides! Thank you to Tyler Bradshaw, Bradley Hardee, Jordan Lang, Hunter Sparks, and Holden Stotesbury with Electric for providing the bucket rides. Thank you also to the following who helped with harnessing riders and providing a fun game at our tent: Jolene Donaldson (Finance), Emily Garner (Pub Info), Carolyn Jones (Customer Relations), Eban Kea (IT), Caitlyn McLawhorn (Finance), Erin Walton (Pub Info), and Emily Winslow (Pub Info).
ECU Career Fairs
ECU Career Services hosted two career fairs on September 28th in the Greenville Convention Center. The morning event was a Job and Internship Fair followed by a Science, Engineering, and Technology Fair that afternoon. Thank you to Angie Fuller, Leah Herring, and Juanita Sims from Human Resources along with Andy Anderson (IT) for organizing GUC’s participation and being on hand to meet with students
Better Skills, Better Jobs Fair
Our Human Resources staff assisted community partners with planning the “Better Skills, Better Jobs Fair” that took place on October 29th at the Greenville Convention Center. The fair was sponsored by the John M. Belk Endowment, Pitt Community College, Greenville ENC Alliance, Pitt County Economic Development, TALK 96.3 & 103.7, and Koinonia Community Solutions. Community planning partners included GUC, Pitt County Schools, East Carolina University, Tradesformers, NC Coastal Society for Human Resource Management, NCWorks, and Vidant Health. This second-annual job fair included 100 employers. Big thanks to the following employees for representing GUC at the event: Angie Fuller, Juanita Sims, Richie Shreves, and Lena Previll with Human Resources and Jacob Swink (Electric).
