Jeffrey Clemons Retires
Water Resources Pipe Layer III Jeffrey Clemons recently retired with 22 years of service with GUC. Jeffrey was on one of the system maintenance crews that handle trouble calls, perform maintenance on more than 3,550 fire hydrants, and inspect and clean more than 13,800 valves within the water system.
Jeffrey was among the first on scene for trouble calls, whether a large water main break, small water or sewer leak, or water pressure issue, to name a few. For larger issues, Jeffrey was part of the team responsible for shutting down mains and notifying customers. Prior to being on this crew, Jeffrey also worked on a Water Resources construction crew.
“I liked the variety of my job and providing quality service to our community and customers,” he said. “Most of all, I enjoyed working with the others. There is a lot of on-the-job training when we get started, so that helped make it a tight-knit unit.”
Jeffrey says that in retirement, he plans on working for a transportation service that helps clients get to and from medical appointments. He also plans to enjoy more time with his family and grandbabies.
