Awards & Recognitions 
Commissioners recognized the electric and fleet maintenance crews who assisted in the restoration of power to Morganton and Drexel following Hurricane Helene. The Smooth Operators brought their award for winning another competition (click here for details). GUC’s Public Information Office was recognized for winning an American Public Power Association Excellence in Public Power Communications Award in the video category. Wastewater Project 
The Board approved increasing the capital project budget to move the sanitary sewer lines at the intersection of Worthington and Corey Roads near Boyd Lee Park. The NC Department of Transportation is building a roundabout there and will pay 50% of our costs for the project.
