Paula Vinciguerra Retires

January 6, 2025

Paula Vinciguerra, Staff Support Specialist III in the Meter Section of the Electric Department, has retired with almost 29 years of service with GUC.

Before joining the Meter Section in 2006, Paula worked for Station One as well as Stores. In her role with Meter the past 18 years, Paula assisted with all of the section's administrative functions, including customer correspondence and record keeping. She also maintained weekly and monthly reports, dispatched field activities, and worked closely with Customer Service and Billing on any meter-related issues.

In addition, Paula served on the core team that helped set up the day-to-day activities (like installations and field activities) for the Cityworks and CCS systems. After the implementation projects wrapped up, she worked regularly with these systems not just with daily work, but in assisting with upgrade testing and overall system maintenance.

“I learned something about myself while serving on those project teams,” she said, “and it’s that I enjoy figuring out why something doesn’t work. We did a lot of troubleshooting and problem solving on those projects, and I do it a lot at home and in my daily workload. I really enjoyed that part of my job. And people here at GUC are like family to me. I loved working with employees from all departments and will miss seeing everyone.”

In her new spare time, Paula plans to enjoy more time catching up with friends and family. Most of her family are in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania. “I love traveling and doing anything that involves water, from the lake to the beach. I might also try to get back into fishing,” she said. “The biggest thing on my bucket list is visiting newly discovered family in Italy. As an adult, I learned that my grandfather moved to the States from Italy, and that we still have family living in Ariano Irpino, the Province of Avellino. My cousin has been visiting them over the past six years, learning some Italian along the way, so I’d like my first trip over to be with him.”

Paula, we wish you the very best in retirement!  You will be missed.
