Service Awards

David Moore / 20 Years

Utility Locator David Moore has recently celebrated 20 years with Greenville Utilities. "It has been a blessing to work beside a group of class A people for 20 years," he said. "I have seen us go through a lot together and they have been here for me as a friend and a brother." As a Utility Locator, he works with the Underground Locating Services Section, which is under the Gas Department. His job requires the use of different types of equipment and methods to locate underground facilities (pipes, mains, etc.) for all of our Operating Departments. One of the main group of tools used in David's job are the Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping tools. His job helps GUC, as well contractors and our customers, avoid hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in repair costs. David and his wife, Serisa, have two adult children, Davon and Shakira, and a grandbaby, Shaniya. Outside of GUC, David enjoys doing "nothing," although that's hard to do as a Pastor. He really enjoys golfing and has recently taken a liking to boxing.

Jerry Jones recently celebrated 20 years of service with GUC. The information Operators collect is entered into the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, which is the heartbeat of the plant and tracks the trends at the WWTP. "I like producing clean water for the environment," Jerry said. "It's enjoyable working with people who have the same goals as you do." Jerry and his wife, Melissa, have a 15-year-old son, Justin, and a four-legged son, a Karin Terrier named Bo. In Jerry's spare time, he enjoys gardening and salt water fishing, especially flounder gigging.
