Service Awards
Jason Cyphers / 20 Years
Jason Cyphers recently celebrated 20 years of service with Greenville Utilities. As the Gas Engineering Coordinator, Jason performs technical engineering work, reviews plans for new developments, manages the Geographic Information System (GIS) and Work and Asset Management (WAM) systems for the Gas Department, and works closely with others within the Department to develop new, more efficient methods for performing work. “I enjoy utilizing new technologies to design methods that make it easier to both collect and report information that is key to the safe operation of our gas system,” said Jason.
Jeffery Clemons / 20 Years
Water Resources Pipe Layer III Jeffrey Clemons recently celebrated 20 years of service with GUC. Jeffrey is one of the system maintenance crews that handle trouble calls, perform maintenance on our approximately 3,557 fire hydrants, and inspect and clean approximately 13,811 valves within the water system. Jeffrey is among the first on scene for trouble calls, whether it’s a large water main break, small water or sewer leak, or water pressure issue, to name a few. For larger issues, Jeffrey is part of the team responsible for shutting down mains and notifying customers. Prior to being on this crew, Jeffrey also worked on a Water Resources construction crew. “I like the variety of my job and providing a service to our community and customers,” he said. “Most of all, I like working with the others here. There is a lot of on-the-job training when we get started, so that helps make it a tight-knit unit. We all help each other out when we can, and show new employees how to do the job safely.”
David Garris / 20 Years
IT Support Specialist II David Garris recently celebrated 20 years of service with GUC. He is part of the team that provides support for employees through the Help Desk. Each Specialist has their own area of concentration.
