Butch Stroud Retires
Butch Stroud, Water Resources Pipe Crew Leader II, retired this month after 25 years with GUC. Butch supervised a crew of six that predominantly handle water and sewer projects involving both large and small diameter mains and valves, as well as service lines. On the construction end, they do brand new main and pipe installations. Maintenance involves replacing sections of existing mains, valves, and service lines.
Butch says that during his GUC career he most enjoyed doing the type of work that allowed him to be outdoors and run heavy equipment. “I’ve specially enjoyed working with my crew and the guys on our other crews,” he said. “It has been a joy working with such a great group of people over the last 25 plus years.”
In retirement, Butch plans to spend more time with friends and family and more time on his boat trout fishing. Butch has two adult children, Chandler and Niki, along with three grandchildren, Kaleb (21), Payton (16), Colten (infant).
Good luck in retirement, Butch. You will be missed!
