Tee Taylor Retires
Tee Taylor, Customer Contact Representative II, has recently retired after almost 16 years of service with GUC. Her main responsibility was to answer calls from customers wanting to connect, disconnect, or transfer service. She also helped customers with billing questions or whose service had been disconnected or disrupted. Customer Contact Representatives are often a customer's first contact with GUC, either in person or on the phone, responding to a variety of customer inquiries.
Tee said she most enjoyed working with our walk-in customers. “I especially enjoyed helping our senior customers. I’ll really miss them,” she said. “I also enjoyed working with our landlords.”
Tee began her GUC career as a Dispatcher in Station One. She left to work in customer service at Edgecombe-Martin Electric Membership Cooperative for four years and then returned to GUC in her current role in the Customer Relations Department.
In retirement, Tee plans to spend more time with family. Her son, Michael, and his wife, Chernora, have three kids: Zamien (25), Neeko (17), and Jeremiah (15). “With the two youngest grandkids going to college in a few years, I want to spend as much time with them before they go,” she said. Tee also enjoys travelling to anywhere with water. “I miss my annual cruise and can’t wait to get back to that.”
Tee lives in Greene County on what was once part of her grandfather’s farm. She looks forward to taking care of her six acres and enjoying the wildlife. “Now that I’ll have more time, I’d like to try my hand at growing collards and potatoes.”
Good luck in retirement, Tee!
