ECU Merchant Fair 
GUC went back to school on September 1st – with the ECU Pirates! We joined with other community businesses and organizations to share information with students, faculty, and staff at the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce Merchant Fair. Thanks to Kathy Howard (Business Development), Doug Askew (Legal), Steve Hawley (Public Information), Angie Fuller (HR), and Karin Fullington (Public Information) for staffing our booth. Thank you to David Telfair, Justin Oaks, Roger Waterfield, and Brandon Stevens with the Gas Department for transporting materials and helping set up and breakdown the tent. 

Kids Zone
As part of our “Powering the Pirates” partnership with ECU Athletics, GUC is a sponsor of the Kids Zone at ECU home football games. The Kids Zone is an area inside the stadium, close to Gate 2, where children can play various games. There are also a couple of tents with televisions and a GUC-sponsored cell phone charging station. Public Information staffs a table in the Zone, handing out GUC-branded giveaways and talking with people about our organization. Thank you Tyler Reynolds (IT) and Steve Hawley (Public Information) for representing us during the September home games. 

Minority Enterprise Development Week 
Greenville Utilities and the City of Greenville Minority and Women Business Enterprise Program (MWBE) once again sponsored activities for Minority Enterprise Development Week, September 20-24. Events throughout the week recognized the contributions of minority and women business owners to the growth of our local economy. Pictured is Cleve Haddock (Finance) demonstrating GUC’s online vendor bid process. This was part of Cleve’s presentation on how to do business with GUC. 

ECU Engineering & Technology Virtual Fair 
Thank you to Jacob Barnes (Electric), Andy Anderson (Information Technology), Charles Buck (Gas), Kay Spriggs (Human Resources), and Angie Fuller (Human Resources) for representing Greenville Utilities at ECU’s Virtual Engineering & Technology Career Fair on September 29th.
