Billy Moseley Retires
Fleet Manager Billy Moseley has retired after 23 years with Greenville Utilities. He joined GUC as a Mechanic in the Garage in 1998.
As Fleet Manager, Billy directed the daily activities of our full-service Garage (also known as Fleet Maintenance under the Finance Department) that includes fabricating, welding, testing (diagnostics), inspecting, performing minor body work, and more. Our Fleet staff is responsible for 270 vehicles (from pickups and SUVs to bucket trucks), 283 pieces of equipment (from chainsaws to bulldozers), and 130 trailers.
“I have enjoyed working with a great group of employees who have the ability to fix anything, and I truly enjoyed the interactions we had with other departments each day,” he said. “All the people here are like family. I tried to be an encouragement to everyone. This is a great organization with many talented people.”
Billy and his wife, Sheryl, celebrated their 43rd anniversary in June. Billy plans to enjoy more time with Sheryl and their daughter, Taylor, at their place in the mountains. They also enjoy serving in their church, Parker’s Chapel, where Billy is a Deacon and choir member, and Sheryl plays percussion in the orchestra.
Good luck in retirement, Billy!
