The Board of Commissioners met in the Board Room on August 17th for their regular monthly meeting.

Dr. Wanda Carr, our new Commissioner, was introduced to the Board. She will fill the remainder of Marcus Jones’ term. She is the Business Officer at the Oakwood School and has been a resident of Greenville for more than 20 years.

The Board recognized several employees: Chris Hudson, Lineworker Second Class, for being named the Pitt County Firefighter of the Year by the Pitt County Firefighter’s Association (see story here); Cliff Cahoon, Water Resources Construction Contracts Engineer, for being selected as a Professional Engineers of North Carolina Fellow (see story here); and the Public Information team for winning an Excellence in Communications award from the North Carolina City-County Communicators (NC3C) for a video they created last fall about rising natural gas prices (see story here).
