Preparedness & Safety Fair
Greenville Utilities attended the Preparedness and Safety Fair hosted by the Pitt County Health Department at Lowe’s Home Improvement Store on 10th Street. The event happened on Saturday, September 14th, just one week after Hurricane Dorian paid us a visit. The fair allowed people in the community to talk to first responders as well as other professionals, learn emergency preparedness and safety, and view different equipment often used in emergency situations. Thank you to Dail Booth (Water Treatment Plant), Karin Fullington (Public Information), Brandie Whitehurst (Finance), and Jay Little (IT) for representing us.

Kids Zone
As part of our “Powering the Pirates” sponsorship, GUC is supporting the Kids Zone inside the stadium at ECU home football games. Public Information is staffing a table in the Zone close to Gate 2 (near the Smash Waffle and Simply Natural Creamery trucks), giving away GUC-branded giveaways and talking with people about our organization. GUC is also sponsoring the cell phone charging station there. Thank you Linda Clark and Steve Hawley for representing us there.

Freeboot Friday (pictured above)
Greenville Utilities once again participated in Freeboot Friday. Bucket trucks, along with a booth full of GUC branded giveaways, were set up for people of all ages to enjoy. A big thank you to the following: Electric Lineworkers Joey Dash, Earl Harris, Bryson Hall, Ray Baker, and Steven Briley, as well as Monica Dixon (IT), Keshia Pierce (Customer Relations), Kirsten Suggs (Customer Relations), Brian Weigand (Finance), Emily Garner (Public Information), Erin Walton (Public Information), and Kate Kosolapova (Public Information).
