A Time for Science Expo
Joined by other organizations from Eastern North Carolina, GUC employees participated in the annual A Time for Science/NC Museum of Natural Sciences STEM Expo on February 3rd. This year, the Expo corresponded with a ribbon cutting at their new location in downtown Greenville. Our employees shared information and showcased hands-on demonstrations, engaging with almost 1,000 children and adults. 

Ryan Van Scoy and Brad Burroughs (Electric) shared powerline safety tips. They were accompanied by Deanna Castellow (Water Resources) and Cameron Britton and Emily Garner (Pub Info) who educated attendees about what should and should not be washed down their drains, along with the science behind water treatment. 

ECU Career Fairs
ECU Career Services hosted two career fairs on February 14th in the Greenville Convention Center. The morning event was a Science, Engineering, and Technology Fair which was followed by a Job and Internship Fair in the afternoon. Thank you to Andy Anderson (IT), Tyler Haislip (Water Resources), and Tracy Williams, Aracely Smith, and Sharika Drew (Human Resources) for being on-hand to meet with the students.

ECU Basketball
Greenville Utilities was on-hand at East Carolina University men's basketball game against Tulane on February 18th to show our support for the ECU Pirates. Thank you to Carolyn Jones (Customer Relations) for representing GUC and handing out our promotional items.

Kiwanis Club
On February 19th, Jonathan Sergeant with Energy Services presented to the Kiwanis Club during their monthly meeting. He provided information on how Energy Services can assist customers with energy savings, including how to find this information and tips on our website. 

ECU School of Communication
On February 21st, Emily Garner and Cameron Britton with Public Information spent the afternoon at ECU’s School of Communication Career Fair to share information about GUC opportunities with communication students.
