February 2025 Board Notes

February 27, 2025

The Board voted to approve the issuance of $70M in bonds to fund capital projects. Among the projects included are: electric transmission upgrades, Point of Delivery substation upgrades, Peak Shaving Plant and generator system replacements, LNG plant additions and upgrades, an enterprise resource planning system, and property acquisitions.

Commissioners also approved a parts inventory management contract for Fleet. Under the four-year deal, NAPA would run our parts management system instead of GUC employees. NAPA would own, stock, and tailor the inventory to GUC’s needs while running the parts counter. The deal is expected to reduce the time needed to get parts onto GUC vehicles, increase mechanic productivity, and reduce overhead by eliminating one temporary employee. The Parts Manager will be reassigned to Materials Management (formerly known as Stores Warehouse) where they will be able to utilize their years of experience. The contract is also expected to reduce the total cost of parts by about 30%.
