The Board recognized employees for quite a number of awards this month. From safety and reliability to a computer system upgrade to skills and knowledge-based competitions, employees were recognized for earning 23 awards. You can read more about each one here:

Commissioners also approved a bid for the labor on the first phase of a project to build a transmission line connecting our third point of delivery substation (POD) to the Simpson substation. The $2.2 Million contract will have River City Construction install new tubular steel poles and wiring in the first phase. The loop will be completed in phase two at a future date. 

This project is one of many taken on by GUC over the past several years to build redundancy into our electric system to maintain high reliability and fast restoration times.
