April 1, 2016

Lisa Briley, Administrative Assistant in the Electric Department, recently retired after 20 years with Greenville Utilities. Lisa worked closely with Roger Jones, Director of Electric Systems, and her administrative staff to ensure that all of the department's administrative functions, including correspondence, work orders, and record keeping, were properly handled.

Before Lisa joined GUC, she worked for the City of New Bern's Electric Department for 13 years. She began her career in the industry as a Meter Reader before moving into billing and customer service. Lisa joined GUC as the Electric Department's Customer Records Clerk and was promoted to her current position in 1999.

"I loved my job! I got to do it all in my career," she said. "I miss everybody already. They're like family because I've been working with them for so long."

Lisa looks forward to spending more time with her 13-year-old son, Josh, her mom, and her husband, Frank. She's also very active with the choir and youth group at their church in Vanceboro, Lisa's hometown.

Lisa, we'll miss you and wish you the very best of luck in retirement!
