Hurricane Matthew Employee Appreciation
Hurricane Matthew Employee Appreciation
Employees gathered in the Electric / Water Resources Maintenance Building on Tuesday, November 22, for one of two All-Employee Luncheons. The GUC Board and Management Team wanted to thank all employees for their hard work and dedication during and after Hurricane Matthew.
"I hope I don't ever have to go through something like Hurricane Matthew again, but if I do, I want to do it with you all because you are the best," said General Manager/CEO Tony Cannon during the luncheon.
Board of Commissioner Chair Don Mills also spoke to employees during the luncheon. "On behalf of the Board, we say thank you very much for your hard work and dedication," he said. "GUC employees really made a difference following Hurricane Matthew." Also in attendance were Commissioners Tommy Stoughton, Minnie Johnson-Anderson, and Parker Overton.
Employees will soon receive a Hurricane Matthew long-sleeve shirt and hat from their department administrators. In addition, 10,000 safety points have been added to everyone's account.
Below are the speeches made as well as the slideshow and video shown.
