2017 Existing Industries Event
Greenville Utilities partnered with the Pitt County Development Commission (PCDC) once again to sponsor the Existing Industry Reception held on February 21st. The reception is part of the PCDC's Annual Awards Ceremony. Representing GUC at the event were Tony Cannon, General Manager/CEO; John Worrell, Assistant Director of Electric; Freddie Martin, Natural Gas Supply Officer; Scott Mullis, Assistant Director of the Customer Relations; Sandy Dail, Cost Analyst; and Kyle Brown, Electric Planning Engineer. Members of the Board of Commissioners and the Management Team also attended the reception.
Tony, John, Freddie, Scott, Sandy, and Kyle, along with David Springer, Water Resources Planning Engineer, and Becky Pope, IT Applications Manager, are certified Key Account Managers. They earned this distinction from the American Public Power Association after attending classes, passing written and oral exams, and submitting business and marketing plans.
Our Key Accounts Team works to retain and nurture long-term relationships with our key account customers. While all of our customers are special and unique, a Key Account is a person or organization that can have a significant financial impact on our system. This includes high load factor/high demand customers, national or chain accounts, individuals who impact community decision making, and community action groups.
Key Account Managers partner with these customers and assist them in increasing their profitability through education, relationship building, support, and other forms of assistance. They provide a single point of contact for these customers to meet their individual needs. The Key Accounts team also works proactively in recruiting industries to locate in our service area, contributing to the economic growth and development of Greenville and Pitt County.
