Eleven Years of Santa Visits
Eleven Years of Santa Visits
For 11 years now, GUC employees and their families have enjoyed our annual visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. This year, Santa came to town for the parade on December 9th and made a stop by GUC on December 10th. Our GUC children were able to share their wish lists with him and have their pictures taken; and, of course, enjoy milk and cookies!
Santa's visit is part of Operation Santa Claus, a partnership between the Salvation Army and the Pitt County Department of Social Services that provides donated toys to children who might not otherwise find any gifts under the tree on Christmas morning. Families brought toys to donate when they came to visit with Santa. We had collection boxes set up throughout our facilities as well for employees and customers to participate in the toy drive.
"We look forward to our GUC visit every year," said Mrs. Claus. "It is so fun to watch the children grow up and to meet new kids. We love coming here!"
A big jolly thank you to Lou Norris and Anna Hinton with the General Manager's Office for planning the event and being on hand to provide milk, cookies, and reindeer food to the kids who attended. Public Information employees Erin Walton and Linda Clark took photos and made them available for download on a special web link (https://tinyurl.com/gucchristmas).
