Service Awards
Bryan Bland / 20 Years
Wastewater Treatment Plant Chief of Maintenance Bryan Bland has celebrated 20 years of service with Greenville Utilities. Bryan and his team of 11 are responsible for the repair and maintenance of the Plant as well as 38 remote wastewater pump stations located throughout our service area. In addition to maintaining and repairing the pump stations, Bryan and his team inspect each one at least once a week. "Mostly what I've enjoyed over the years were the opportunities to grow as a person and to work with great people along the way," said Bryan. "I have a great group of guys with an abundance of different skill sets." He and his wife, Katherine, have twin boys, James and Michael (5), daughter Emma (2), and a baby on the way this summer. In his spare time, Bryan enjoys hunting and fishing as well as camping with the family.
Keith Nichols / 20 Years
Meter Technician II Keith Nichols has celebrated 20 years of service with GUC. He is part of the team responsible for all maintenance, repair, and in-house testing of water and gas meters. They also perform maintenance on our larger commercial meters and compound water meters (typically installed at facilities like apartment complexes). "Over the years I've enjoyed the changes in technology because of the challenge it brings," said Keith. "I've always liked a good challenge, and it's all been for the best." He and his wife, Elaine, like to travel, especially to places where he can enjoy his interest in Civil War history. He also enjoys fishing for King Mackerel and attending ECU games.
