Robert Foreman Retires
Gas Systems Technician Robert Foreman has retired after 20 years at Greenville Utilities. Robert joined GUC as a Machine Operator in Water Resources before moving to the Gas Department to do construction with new gas mains and service lines, and later worked with the gas valve maintenance program. Robert’s primary responsibility these last few years has been the routine inspection and maintenance of gas meters, and continued assistance for service and construction crews when needed. He also maintained his Class A CDL (commercial) license so that he could continue to help in this capacity, whether it was operating construction equipment or driving it to crews in the field.
“I call this my graduation,” joked Robert. “But seriously, I appreciate all of you and how we all looked out for each other. You don’t work 20 years without some good days and some bad days, and I’ve enjoyed working with you all.”
From Pinetops, Robert and his wife, Brenda Carol, have five children ranging from 20 to 29 years old, along with four grandchildren. All but one of their kids has settled closed to home, and one daughter lives in Georgia. Brenda Carol is also retired and serves as the Pastor at New Bethlehem Holiness Church. Robert plans to enjoy more time on their farm where they grow their own produce, and maybe get in some extra fishing and hunting.
Congratulations on your “graduation” Robert!
