For the second time in our 114-year history, we achieved an important milestone — two million consecutive man hours without a lost workday due to injury. What an incredible feat! The last time we hit the 2M hours mark was in February of 2012.

In total, we have reached the one or two million hours goal six times now (2010, 1M; 2012, 2M; 2013, 1M; 2015, 1M; 2018, 1M; and 2019, 2M).

When you consider the challenges of delivering electric, water, sewer, and natural gas to nearly 160,000 customer connections, it is a remarkable feat to work two million hours without a major injury!

It took each and every employee to reach this milestone, and to celebrate our team effort, employees were treated to a Two Million Hour Achievement Lunch at the Electric/Water Resources Maintenance Building on April 2nd. The event included a magician, delicious food, and 3,000 safety points for each employee.
