Anita Cochrin Retires
Revenue Protection Specialist Anita Cochran recently retired after 27 years of service with Greenville Utilities. She started out in Station One, and moved to the Credit Revenue Protection section of the Customer Relations Department in 1996. Her job was to collect revenue and bad debt and to work with our priority customers. She also investigated reports of meter tampering and went to criminal court for utility theft and worthless check cases. Some of you may have attended Anita’s “Meter Tampering” class where she walked participants through the process of conducting field investigations for illegal utility consumption. It was an informative class that offered tips on how we, as GUC employees and customers, can help keep an eye out for signs of illegal utility use.
“In my job there was always a challenge to work through, and I enjoyed that,” said Anita. “I also liked getting to know our customers. GUC cares about being a good partner in the community, and our employees enjoy what they do - and that makes a job more worthwhile.”
Anita and her husband, Todd, have three children, Ethan (a teacher and baseball coach at Eastern Elementary), Grace (a college student in Tennessee), and Gibbs (a middle schooler). In retirement, Anita plans to enjoy more time with the family, which will include lots of baseball, basketball, and football games. She also hopes to get more involved with their church.
Anita, we wish you very best in retirement!
