New Reporting Procedure for Fleet Damage
The Safety Office has implemented new procedures for reporting discovered asset damages to GUC Fleet vehicles, including minor windshield damages. If an employee discovers damage to any mobile assets - such as vehicles, trailers, or mobile equipment - they are to report it immediately to the Fleet Service Writer through the Fleet Management Direct Phone System.
The Fleet Service Writer can be reached by dialing 252-551-1519 and selecting Option #1. Based on the situation, Fleet will provide advice on how to transport the damaged equipment to the garage. Fleet will then inspect the damages to determine if a Safety Office investigation is necessary. If no investigation is necessary, Fleet will repair the damages, record the repair history in AssetWorks, and return the asset to service.
With this new procedure in place, employees no longer need to contact Station One to report damages unless the damages are caused by a collision.
