GUC Hits Another Safety Goal

GUC Hits Another Safety Goal

June 26, 2020

Working safely is vital for GUC.  We spend a considerable amount of effort making sure our employees have the resources, knowledge and skills to stay safe. One way we measure our success is through setting Corporate Safety Initiative (CSI) goals and tracking our progress. Earlier this year, we celebrated working 3,000,00 consecutive hours without a lost workday incident. That is amazing.

Now, we’re happy to report that we recently met another one of our CSI goals – we exceeded our goal of working 300,000 hours without an OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Recordable Incident!

How does OSHA define a recordable incident?

  • Any work-related fatality;
  • Any work-related injury or illness that results in loss of consciousness, days away from work, restricted work, or transfer to another job;
  • Any work-related injury or illness requiring medical treatment beyond first aid; and
  • Any work-related diagnosed case of cancer, chronic irreversible diseases, fractured or cracked bones or teeth, and punctured eardrums.

Pat yourselves on the back for jobs well done! Going home safely to your families and friends is the #1 goal and together, we can stay safe.
